Born from a dream to create a unique hideaway for couples, Thulamela opened its doors in October 1996 after three years of planning and hard work. What began as a 15-hectare bush property near Hazyview, transformed by determination and passion rather than tourism experience, has grown into a peaceful retreat deeply rooted in the local community. Nearly 30 years on, and under continued family ownership, Thulamela still welcomes couples from around the world to experience the same care and intimacy it was founded on.
